Our Model & Focus Areas

• Youth Professional Development: Through their SIFE experience the students gain leadership, communication, teamwork and other success skills. Also of note is their development of self -confidence, the business mentoring they gain through their advisory boards, and the networking opportunities through the business leaders at national and international competitions. The result is a different type of graduate, a ‘SIFEd’ one, who is business-minded, success oriented with a very strong work ethic.

• Entrepreneurial Development: SIFE believes that success in entrepreneurship has as much to do with attitude and personality as it does to do with an understanding and application of business theories. Therefore the program is designed to help students develop key success skills, expose them to the real world, and more importantly develop an entrepreneurial mindset/attitude/personality/way of life (i.e. calculated risk-taker, sharp eye for identifying opportunities, positive oriented thinking, solution oriented, tough, see failures as learning opportunities and bounce back up from them, etc). Many SIFE graduates naturally head down the entrepreneurial path and become very successful while others take up great jobs where they become extremely successful creative and innovative ‘intrapreneurs’.

• Community Development: SIFE NZ teams implement outreach projects designed to empower and improve the lives of fellow citizens. Given the number of SIFE Teams spread across each country, the result is a multiplier effect of many projects reaching many local communities.
