SIFE, as in business, believes that a healthy sense of competition, motivates the participants and leads to better results.
In this spirit, SIFE teams are invited to showcase the effect of their outreach projects at annual competitions judged by panel of business leaders.
The competitions are challenging, team-oriented events that strengthen the learning experience of the students, provide a forum for best-practice sharing and create significant networking opportunities for everyone involved.
Teams compete at regional and national levels with the competitive process culminating at the SIFE World Cup,where one team from each country comes together to share the impact made in their communities with a number of prestigious international business leaders.
SIFE competitions are challenging, team-oriented events that create a sense of accountability and motivation for teams to continually improve the quality of their projects. They also provide an opportunity for collaboration and best-practice sharing, further strengthening the value of the learning experience and the overall effectiveness of the program.
Every country that operates a SIFE program is eligible to organize a national competition for the teams in their country. Countries with larger programs will often hold a series of regional competitions, with the winners from these events qualifying to participate in the national competition. The National Champion team from each country is then invited to compete at the SIFE World Cup.

Once a year, the National Champion SIFE teams from around world meet at the SIFE World Cup where they present the results of their community outreach projects to a prestigious group of international business leaders. Through a written annual report and live audio visual presentation, teams will be evaluated based on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need.
Competing teams are divided among eight opening round leagues, each with approximately five teams. From the opening round of competition, two teams from each league advance to the semi-final round with four teams winning a spot in the final round of competition. Eventually one team will be declared the best and win the coveted title of SIFE World Cup Champion.
